Around 150 delegates from all over the world braved the Scandinavian cold and snow for the latest update on the Chromium industry and macro-economic trends.

Needless to say that the trip was worth and that participants were satisfied with the conference and the variety and quality of speeches given.

An impressive macro-economic outlook was given by top Economist Mr Philippe Chalmin, and was then followed by a roundtable discussion celebrating the 100 years of stainless steel and opening a debate with all the actors of this industry. Other sessions focused on technological improvements and environmental issues as well as outlook for ferrochrome and of course an overview on the current and possible scenario for China and South Africa.

The Chromium 2012 conference was also the ideal opportunity for networking and bringing together in a wonderful Christmas atmosphere all the friends of the chrome industry!

The ICDA participants received a warm welcome by the Vargön Alloys team and had the chance to be informed over Vargön Alloys' history and see ferrochrome processing.
